Palette A Week and Rehab

Before I begin, I do want to apologize for this late post. Adulting sometimes gets in the way or runs a little longer than preferred. I am trying to remember to have scheduled posts ready by a few days before due, and I have been lacking. I will continue to try to make my posts more timely.

This week's palette is one I have been hoarding and holding on to because I was afraid of using it. I no longer wish to have palettes and such in such pristine manner. It's the Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 2. It's supposed to be a dupe for Lorac's Pro Palette 2, which I can't remark about since I do not own that one. I love the versatility of this palette, with its effortless ability to go from day to night. The shades seem pretty pigmented and very easy to blend.

I am also thinking I'm going to make this palette-a-week thing turn into a palette-a-month. I don't find myself getting bored of using one palette a week so I think I can make it a longer ordeal. I don't use makeup every single day so this is also encouraged my decision to make palette usage longer. Another note I made to myself, I will be destashing more palettes, specifically ones I don't care for. I realized I have several that are pretty much the same, offering same colors (or look similar once worn on the eye) or same color scheme even. I'm planning on going through my stash this weekend and hopefully I can decide on what I don't want to keep or don't need. On my road to rehab I find it easier to let go of unwanted/unneeded/dupe products that I know I can easily attain again if needed once I finish an item.

I recently took a quick trip to Dollar Tree to get storage containers. I usually will rummage through all of the aisles. While coming up on the makeup aisle, I spotted Wet n Wild, which is quite rare. I looked through all of the offerings of shimmer powders, brushes, palettes, lipsticks, lip glosses, and the only thing that caught my eye was Velvet Matte Lip Color in DJ Doll. I don't have a pretty coral-y color such as this, so I bit the bullet. I know, a whole dollar! What am I complaining about? I told myself I would not buy anymore makeup. Replacement-only buy, to be specific. The old me, the one who had no rehab in sight, would have bought every single item because hey, IT'S A FREAKING DOLLAR!

Improvements have been made. I have not visited Ulta or Sephora, both easily accessible to me in my area, although the idea has crossed my mind. I get plenty of beauty boxes that quench my undying thirst for beauty and I don't really NEED anymore neutral palettes or anymore indie samples and so on and so forth. I'm glad to dust the dirt off from that several-years-long battle.

Next I hope to post bi-weekly empties (as measly as it might be) along with palette destashing and any box reviews. Have a great week!
