Before I begin, I buy or receive and use samples of products. I usually am a bargain shopper since I try to help on saving money (I’m a SAHM.) I rarely buy super expensive products, unless it’s deemed a gotta-have-and-my-hubby-is-letting-me-splurge product.
I received a sample of this product with an order I made of their Take Me to Brazil Palette (gorgeous, and totally recommend!) I have to admit, I’m not much of an “anti-shine product” believer. I have combination, but more on the oily side, skin. I’m always looking for anti-shine, matte, beat the extra shine products. I finally decided to use it since I was heading to an outdoor event and I wanted to try it out.
The application was a major wow for me, I mean WOW. Its silky, frothy, whipped mousse texture was just as plush as that whipped cream on your pie you’re picturing right now. It goes on thick, which was uncomfortable at first. I know, it sounds strange to apply such a texture on your face, but it was so soft and airy that it melted almost instantly on my face. It set to a powder finish which I absolutely loved.
So it started out alright, but the problem was that I got about 3-4 hours of anti-shine fun out of it before my face had enough. I started to feel greasy (I wore it under Maybelline Dream Fresh BB) and a bit extra oily. I blotted off the extra oil on my face and it was back to business. I don’t think it kept me matte for any longer than that. That’s when the wow ended.
I do think I would buy the full sized product, however, I think I would wait for a sale. It didn't do enough for my extra oily summer skin for me to immediately purchase. I think this would be perfect for the fall/winter when my skin starts to dry up quite a bit, but still keeps a T-zone sheen.
